Chatfield state park is near Littleton, Colorado. Admission for a day to get in to the park is 8$ a car as I am currently writing this. There are plenty of things to do here from boating, fishing, paddle boarding, horse back riding, kayaking and scuba diving. Here is some useful information there is a couple lake next to each other. The large lake is the only lake you can take a boat on that is called Chatfield lake. Today I will be talking about the gravel pond next to Chatfield lake. First of all the Gravel pond does not permit any kind of motorized boat/ect. on it. The gravel pond is used for fishing, kayaking, paddle board and scuba diving. I will mostly be covering scuba diving since I could not find anything about it online. The deepest that the gravel pond got was 25 feet the visibility is 2-7 feet and dive flags are needed here. Next the gravel ponds bottom temperature was 70 degrees and surface was 72 degrees keep in mind this was late June. In the gravel pond you can find shells and things the paddle boarders above have lost for example we found glasses, paddles, kayak paddles and much more. The gravel pond was interesting to dive you can see carp, crawdads and a couple different types of fish you can also spearfish here. On another note the bottom is made up of mostly silt so don't touch bottom or you wont be able to see that great. Lastly at this gravel pond they have grills to bbq, bathrooms and rental equipment for paddle board or kayak. Overall we had fun and had a good place for the kids to play in the water, hope you enjoyed my page!
